Author Visits

Ellen Bryant Lloyd is available to visit school, libraries, bookstores, and other related organizations for storytime, book signings, presentations, and character events. Presentations typically include a reading of one of her books, an appearance by Freckles (provided there is a volunteer secured by the school or organization to wear the costume), and a talk on the publishing process, “How a story become a book.” All participating children receive a bookmark and sticker, and the coordinator receives a master copy of coloring sheets that may be duplicated for distribution to children.

Also, it is requested that book sales be made prior to the visit so as to allow time for personalization and autographing (a master copy of the order form is provided). A limited number of books will be available the day of the visit. For school visits, Butterfly Creations will donate a copy of one of the books in the FRECKLES series, as well as 10% of all sales generated by book, plush, and t-shirt sales. This amount will be made as a donation back to the school’s media center or parent/teacher organization.
